Development of Board Game to Improve the Cognition of the Elderly

Abstract
Objective : As the elderly population increases rapidly, cognitive promotion tools that can improve or maintain degraded cognitive functions of the elderly are essential, so we intend to develop board tools to improve the cognitive ability of the elderly.

Methods : In this study, from March to April 2022, the opinions of occupational therapists were collected to develop a magnetic puzzle board tool to improve the cognitive function of the elderly.

Results : The magnetic puzzle board tool for the elderly is a tool to improve visual and spatial cognitive skills among the cognitive functions of the elderly. A board game that matches shapes and colors by looking at the picture example card.

Conclusion : In this study, a magnetic puzzle board tool was developed to improve visual and spatial perception ability by difficulty level. It is expected that board tools that complement problems will be continuously developed through many studies in the future to contribute to the cognitive function of the elderly.
